Payment Conditions
As spaces are limited prepaid lessons are essential to book a pony & lesson time. If payment is due & you have booked a lesson but forgotten to pay then you will be charged as a casual. Pre-paid discounts only apply if you have prepaid!
If lessons are paid for as you go, then they will be casual lessons. These must be paid before the start of each lesson – so please be a few minutes early.
LEARN TO RIDE, PONY CLUB & MANE RIDERS The discount on these lessons makes riding more affordable than owning a pony because of your commitment. Like owning a pony, there are no cancellations or rearrangements. Your pony & coach are there for the term & time you booked regardless of the weather, sickness or other activities.
FLEXIBLE LESSONS:
Lessons times are reserved but you can get a full credit for lesson fees you have paid, or rebook your lesson with a minimum of 12 hours notice. Ph Juliet on 827 6030 or 027 245 6685. No shows will be charged for the full lesson.
All lessons will start on time and finish on time. If you are late for a lesson, there may be the opportunity to make up the time with pony care.
Cancellations
The lessons will run rain, hail or shine. The arena has a wonderful surface and is usable after heavy rain. We also have a sizeable undercover area so pony care will be left for those watery Waikato times.
Cancellation by Pony Tales: for safety reasons or pony ill health will result in either a full refund or a replacement lesson on another day.
Spectators
Horses act unpredictably to such things as sounds, sudden movements and unfamiliar objects. As safety is our priority ask you to please watch from the spectator area. Please keep non riding children quiet, out of the arena, driveway, and away from the ponies. Children not in a lesson are your responsibility.
Clothing
Jodhpurs are ideal, long pants are essential. Shorts & dresses are not suitable.
During wet or cold weather, warm waterproof clothing should be as close fitting as possible and closable as flapping jackets are a hazard. Light thin layers and thermal underwear are preferable to thick clothing that may impede mobility.
Gloves are not essential but they do enable the rider to keep better grip on the reins and can help to prevent blisters. Safety vests are an optional choice for riders, but are recommended especially for jumping lessons.
Jewelry should not be worn: earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings could cause injuries in the event of a fall and can easily become dislodged when riding. Please leave these items at home.
Hats & Boots
Jodhpur boots or smooth soled shoes with heels must be worn. Wide toes, gumboots, or running shoes are NOT safe and you will not be allowed to ride in them.
There are limited hats and boots available for the first 10 lessons. We encourage you to provide your child with well fitting NZPC approved safety helmet and boots.
Photography
Often, photographs of you/your children are taken. These may be used on social media, in a publication etc. If you DO NOT want photos taken, please indicate to the organizer. These pictures are the property of PonyTales. We may edit/alter/copy the pics and use my likeness in promotional materials and I that waive any potential royalties etc.
